We have boots on the ground!
Our Glenorchy Capital Hedge fund maestro and Insider Weekly author Chris MacIntosh has been traveling a lot.
He and his family are currently exploring their capital flight options and have been in Portugal for the past two weeks.
Recently, they landed in the small seaside village of Ericeira.
Ericeira is a civil parish and seaside community on the western coast of Portugal (in Mafra municipality, about 35 kilometers (22 mi) northwest of Lisbon) considered the surfing capital of Europe for being the only European spot among the World Surfing Reserves and due to the exceptional coastline conditions for the practice of Surf.
Ericeira's population in 2011 was estimated in 10,260, covering an area of 12.05 km².
Chris write's, “I am in Ericeira Portugal (this place is exactly like Orange County California except with different architecture and no homeless people. I really like it here).”
Ericeira was a popular summer retreat for many of Lisbon's families in the 1940s and 1950s.
Today, it is a popular destination for local and visiting tourists, as well as surfers from around the world (owing to the forty beaches with good conditions in the area).
Ericeira sounds like an epic place for those of us who are considering big geographical moves in the near future.
