The more power you give the government the more crazy people will seek out those positions. If there’s a little teeny-weeny government let’s say in Saint Bart’s, 9000 people. You got a little mayor or something like that, maybe they can put in a street light you’re probably going to have some local firefighter or maybe a school principal or whoever wants to be the mayor and you know just a little side job and they just do it because they like the community but in the grand scheme of things, they really can’t do anything. They don’t really have any power so you’re not going to get power-thirsty people for the position. On the other hand, just think if you’ve got a position that is the most powerful person on the entire planet earth. Are you going to get humble public servants applying for that position or are you going to get people with an insatiable lust for power?
